Mobile Broadband Card Comparison – Novatel vs Huawei

mobile broadband cards

Novatel

Experts in the mobile broadband card industry says the Novatel Ovation U760 is the best USB mobile broadband card currently around.

Pros: The Ovation U760 is the smallest USB broadband card that Sprint has. With a 32 GB potential for expanded microSD storage, it can simultaneously replace your thumb drive and serve as your connection to the internet while comfortably sitting on your keychain.

Cons: While Linux is supported, the technical support and guidelines could be more robust/customer friendly. Fortunately, there isn’t too much else to balk at here.

Huawei

Mobile broadband experts constantly vote Huawei EC360 as the best PC mobile broadband card on the market at the moment.

Pros: The Huawei EC360‘s Alltel Aircard works if your laptop has the PC Card slot for it. It’s compact and a retractable antenna allows for better reception in the nook and crannies of the Alltel coverage area. Speed is EVDO Rev. A for up to 3.1 Mbps.

Cons: PC Cards are on the way out in favor of ExpressCards. They aren’t as compatible across the board because newer, more compact laptops only ship with ExpressCard or USB slots.
